1. FC Bocholt and Jan Holldack are parting ways effective immediately. The former captain of the Regionalliga club is moving to the Oberliga.
On Monday (January 19, 2026), Jan Holldack terminated his contract with 1. FC Bocholt by mutual agreement and will continue his career at another club. The former captain of the “Schwatten” is leaving Bocholt’s Hünting after two and a half years.
During this time, Holldack played in 84 competitive matches for FCB, scoring 19 goals and setting up 25 more. The attacking player had transferred to Bocholt from RW Ahlen in the summer of 2023 and quickly became a key pillar of the team.
“1. FC Bocholt would like to thank Jan Holldack for his tremendous dedication and contributions while wearing the Schwatten jersey and wishes him all the best for his future, both on and off the field,” said the board of the team currently ranked tenth in the Regionalliga West.
Forecasting also knows the skilled playmaker’s new club: Holldack will return to his former club, Rot Weiss Ahlen. RS had already reported on the Oberliga club—which is threatened with relegation—showing interest in the midfielder. According to our information, Holldack will be introduced in Ahlen later this week. The Ahlen club was also able to offer Holldack a career opportunity in the real estate sector. This allowed the fifth-division club to finalize Holldack’s return.
Luka Tankulic, Ahlen’s sporting director, confirmed to Forecasting just a few days ago: “He was a good player in Ahlen. Jan is always an option for us. It would also bring him closer to his hometown from a family perspective. We’re trying to make this transfer happen. Of course, everything has to work out financially as well. Let’s see what the next few days bring.”
Holldack has made 16 appearances (three goals, four assists) for Bocholt this season. In total, the former player in England has made 211 appearances (48 goals, 50 assists) in his Regionalliga career. Wearing the Ahlen jersey, the former German U18 national team player has also made 89 appearances (26 goals, 21 assists). Holldack is a true standout for the Oberliga!
Holldack joins Aaron Osei Bonsu, Philiom Tawiah, Gideon Guzy (all most recently without a club), Jan-Nzeba-Bost (VfL Bochum II, on loan), Iskender Aslan (SC Wiedenbrück, on loan), Keleb Nwubani (VfL Bochum II), Bernard Gllogjani (Türkspor Dortmund), and Franko Uzelac (Sportfreunde Lotte), as well as Oktay Dal (Eintracht Hohkeppel), Holldack is the tenth new signing for the Westphalian Oberliga club, which is threatened with relegation.
