SV Meppen remained without a win for the twelfth game in a row. Nevertheless, Meppen’s coach Stefan Krämer was satisfied after the draw at Rot-Weiss Essen.

To start with: Stefan Krämer, coach of SV Meppen, reacted in a very exemplary manner around the 38th minute in the game at Rot-Weiss Essen.

While the game was in progress, the football coach saw that a steward was not feeling well at all. He immediately alerted the paramedics, who rushed to help. The teams went into the dressing room for about ten minutes and fortunately the emergency medical response was positive. The stadium announcer gave the all-clear: “The steward is conscious and responsive again.”

For this great reaction alone, the 55-year-old Krämer had earned the point in the 0-0 draw in Essen. He was also very happy to take this point back to Emsland – even though it was now the 12th game in a row without a win.

“We didn’t perform like a 19th-placed team in the table. We were brave and active. The first half was really strong, the second half more balanced. It was definitely a step forward. We didn’t have as many chances on goal this time, but we defended very well and didn’t allow any big scoring opportunities apart from the great chance by Ron Berlinski just before half-time, where Erik Domaschke made a great save. It was a step in the right direction,” analysed Krämer.

In Essen, with the force under floodlights, to hold our own in that stadium is already a cool achievement. We took the first step, didn’t eat a goal and now it’s a matter of keeping that up and getting some egg thing in against Osnabrück.

Meppen’s coach hopes that this point will give his team new self-confidence. On Saturday, the derby against VfL Osnabrück will take place at home. Meppen then wants to end the year with a win and, of course, stop the negative run.

Krämer: “To come through in Essen, under the floodlights, in that stadium, is a cool achievement. We took the first step, didn’t eat a goal and now it’s a matter of keeping that up and doing some egg thing against Osnabrück.”

Because in addition to their winless streak of twelve matches in a row, SV Meppen also have another problem: the Emslanders have scored just once in their last seven matches.
