Third division team Rot-Weiss Essen drew 0-0 with SV Meppen. RWE coach Christoph Dabrowski had to accept the result.
Wednesday night’s home game against SV Meppen was Rot-Weiss Essen’s last competitive match at Hafenstraße this year. With 16,467 fans, the stadium was once again very well filled and all Rot-Weiss supporters were hoping for a successful end to the year against the struggling Emsländer.
After 94 minutes, however, the spectators had to settle for a 0-0 draw.
It was not a good game for the home side. Defensively, RWE and captain Daniel Heber did a good job, but offensively, the promoted team only had its first goal in the 40th minute through Ron Berlinski. So Essen remained unbeaten for the sixth time in a row, but once again failed to record two wins in a row.

Guest game at Grünwalder Straße
The last English week of the first half of the season will be concluded for Rot-Weiss Essen next Monday evening (14 November, 7pm) with an away game at promotion contenders 1860 Munich. All 1500 tickets for this match are already sold out – the stadium at Grünwalder Straße will be sold out again.
After three away victories in a row, the Dabrowski eleven would like to continue the trend there and also score in Munich. “We have to regenerate and then squeeze out everything we have left in the tank for the top game in Munich. We want to build on the last away games. The goal will be to finish the year with a win,” the coach emphasised confidently.
