Ex-Bochum, KFC and Fortuna pros introduce themselves to Miroslav Klose

Some players who have made a name for themselves in the top three German professional leagues are currently trying to recommend themselves to coach Miroslav Klose for a contract.

SCR Altach, tenth in the Austrian 1st Bundesliga, is using the winter break to strengthen its squad,

Coach and ex-national player Miroslav Klose is currently taking a close look at several trial players who were also professionals in Germany.

In the 5:0 test match victory against FC Dornbirn, several test players also played. Felix Dornebusch introduced himself in goal.

The 28-year-old goalkeeper Dornebusch was last under contract with Fortuna Sittard in the defeats and was previously active for 1. FC Nürnberg and Eintracht Braunschweig.

Between 2011 and 2019 he played for VfL Bochum. In youth he also played for Teutonia Ehrenfeld (1998 to 2005), SG Wattenscheid 09 (2005/2006) and FC Schalke 04 (2006 to 2011). Since 1 July 2022, the Witten native has been without a contract. Now he is hoping for a job in Austria.

In addition, Thomas Pledl (ex-professional of Fortuna Düsseldorf and FC Ingolstadt 04), Mike Bähre (most recently SV Meppen) and Heinz Mörschel (formerly KFC Uerdingen 05 and SC Preußen Münster) also want to recommend themselves for a contract at Klose’s club Altach.

Pledl was recently in trial training with both third division clubs MSV Duisburg and TSV 1860 Munich. However, neither of the two third-division clubs made a contract offer to the 28-year-old midfielder, who played 170 games in the German 2nd Bundesliga. Perhaps things will now work out in Altach.
