A challenge to Madrid? FC Barcelona pays 100 million for Lewandowski/Raphinha

World footballer Robert Lewandowski has celebrated his move to FC Barcelona with his family on a short holiday in Mallorca. According to Spanish and British media, the 33-year-old Polish international striker will fly directly from there to Florida, where his new club is holding a training camp.

If Lewandowski passes medical, Bayern Munich will get 45 million euros transfer fee plus five million possible bonus payments.

In Florida, FC Barcelona host MLS club Inter Miami, the club of former England international David Beckham.

FC Barcelona is already one step further with Raphinha. For the Brazilian, 50 million euros will also flow to Leeds United. The 25-year-old Brazilian international striker has already been presented by Barcelona’s president Joan Laporta at the Camp Nou stadium.

Bayern Munich’s most prominent addition to date, Sadio Mané from Liverpool FC, has already been fully integrated into training. It is now eagerly awaited who the German record champions will sign as Lewandowski’s successor to complete the squad. Matys Tel, who is only 17 years old and plays for French first division club Stade Rennes, is likely to be a supplementary player at best in the event of a transfer.

After all, national striker Serge Gnabry, a player potentially willing to move to FC Bayern, has extended his contract, which expires in 2023, by three years.

Is there possibly no nominal replacement for goal-scorer Lewandowski? Then it would all come down to a Gnabry/Mané one-two
