In Nuremberg, there are a number of offers for Schalke fans. It starts on Friday evening. Legends of FCN are also there.
Matches between 1. FC Nürnberg and Schalke 04 are never normal – because for decades, both clubs have been connected by a close fan friendship. It has long been a tradition that a colorful supporting program is offered around the matches between the two “friends”. This will also be the case this weekend when Schalke meet the Franconians in the 2nd Bundesliga on Saturday (1 p.m./Sky).
“For the first time, the members’ departments of both clubs have organized various offers where fans of the clubs can meet and explore the Franconian metropolis,” the Schalkers announced on their website.
Since many Schalke fans will travel to Franconia as early as Friday, the first activities will take place on Friday evening. In Nuremberg’s old town, there will be a tour of the rock-cut cellars beneath the castle (costing seven euros per person), as well as a one-hour free walking tour through the old town. The tour ends with a red beer tasting session.
Schalke vs. Nuremberg: Saturday starts early
The meeting point on Friday evening is also the 1. FC Nürnberg clubhouse, where FCN and Schalke fans can exchange ideas. “There, in a relaxed atmosphere, joint activities of both clubs, fan friendship and plans for activities at the second leg will be discussed,” they say.
Since the second division game on Saturday kicks off at 1 p.m., the day starts early. The Nuremberg fans are offering a stadium tour at 9:30 a.m. (cost: ten euros per person). Not far from the stadium, there is also an opportunity to visit the club museum (free admission). A guided tour of the former Nazi Party grounds is also offered from 10 a.m. (free of charge). In addition to the history of the site between 1933 and 1938, the role of the city of Nuremberg for the Nazi Party and the use of the site by socialist workers’ sports in the 1920s will also be highlighted at individual stations.
Schalke and Nuremberg fans can test their football knowledge
Another item on the program is a special club quiz in a tram at 10 a.m. (free of charge). Both members of Schalke 04 and of 1. FC Nürnberg can test their football knowledge there – and take a ride on the tram through Nuremberg. Two club legends from 1. FC Nürnberg will also be there.
Important: for all these activities, interested fans must register using a registration form that can be found on the Schalke homepage.
