Seven match days are still to be played in the Essen Kreisliga A Staffel 2. One club has now presented its new coaching team from 1 July 2023.
Essener SG 99 06 will start the 2023/24 season with Ibrahim Ramadan as head coach.
Ramadan, who most recently worked for Al-Arz Lebanon, will be assisted by co-coach Thomas Rausch, who is also sporting director at WSG, and goalkeeping coach Patrick Baran.
“I am pleased that this has worked out. ESG is a well-known amateur club throughout Essen and is known for its great youth work. I used to play junior football here and I don’t live far from the pitch. Everything just fits. The talks with Thomas Rausch were excellent. Now we’ll see to it that we put together a strong team. And then formulate a goal. But first of all, the squad has to be in place,” Ramadan told RevierSport.
At the beginning of February, Ramadan, who also coached Winfried Kray, said after his departure from Al-Arz: “I will now take a break and then possibly start a new job on 1 July. Then my battery will certainly be recharged.”
On 1 July 2023, that will be the case at ESG 99-06. Currently, with seven match days to go, the club from Hubertusburg is in 7th place in the table. Ramadan adds: “I had a few other enquiries after the RevierSport article. But during the talks with ESG, the feeling was simply the best. The club is well and seriously run and has a great facility. With Thomas Rausch and Patrick Baran, I also have two absolute experts at my side. “
