Rot-Weiss Essen is in the winter break until 9 December, when preparations for the 2023 season begin. 18 contracts expire on 1 July 2023.
After MSV Duisburg – RevierSport reported – our editorial team also took a close look at the contract situation at the second Ruhrpott club in the 3rd division, Rot-Weiss Essen.
First of all, irrespective of loan deals or contract constellations in which a contract is automatically extended after a certain number of appearances, the contracts of 18 players currently in the RWE squad expire on 1 July 2023.
“We want to use the winter break to hold talks with all the players whose contracts expire in the summer. If there is something concrete to announce, we will do so,” said Jörn Nowak recently in an interview with RevierSport.
The long winter break – the first competitive match is against Halle on 14 January 2023 – should come in handy for the RWE sporting director. He has enough time to hold the talks mentioned.
