A total of four talents from BVB and Schalke nominated for international matches

The German U17 national team faces a four-nation tournament. Two talents each from Borussia Dortmund and Schalke 04 are included.

After winning the European Championship in the summer, the next generation of the German U17 national team is about to start.

At the beginning of September, Germany will face Israel (6 September), Denmark (9 September) and Italy (12 September) at the Four Nations Tournament in Bonn and Hennef.

The DFB squad also includes two talents each from Borussia Dortmund and FC Schalke 04. National coach Michael Prus nominated 16-year-old BVB youngsters Nick Cherny and Tyler Louis Meiser. Striker Cherny and centre-back Meiser are currently playing for Dortmund’s B Juniors. In addition, Elias Benkara, another Borussian, is on call.

Taycan Etcibasi and Kayhan Sayman from the Schalker Knappenschmiede can also make an appearance. After four days of play in the U17 Bundesliga, attacker Etcibasi (16) already has three goals and two assists. Sayman, who is only 15 years old, can be used flexibly on the flanks.

Talented youngsters from the Revier clubs already shone when they won the title this summer. Dortmund’s Paris Brunner, for example, was one of the tournament’s top scorers with four goals. Or Assan Ouedraogo from S04, who now plays for the professional team of the Königsblauen.

In the future, the next generation wants to write a similar success story. All of the nominated players have not yet played for the U17 national team. Qualification for the upcoming European Championship starts in October. The four-nation tournament is therefore the dress rehearsal.

“The team is looking forward to playing in front of its own audience,” national coach Prus is quoted as saying by the DFB. “With three opponents who play very differently, it will be a challenge to always have the right answer ready. In the last test before the qualifying round for the European Championship in Liechtenstein, the focus will also be on developing our own playing philosophy. “
