Aachen is coming – Döring warns and recalls Gindorf’s gala performance against RWE

SV Wehen Wiesbaden recently suffered a 0-3 defeat at Hansa Rostock after five games in a row without defeat. Alemannia Aachen is a difficult opponent to predict.

Wehen Wiesbaden coach Nils Döring had to express his regret ahead of the home game against Alemannia Aachen on Friday, October 24, at 7 p.m. Not only because his team had recently lost 3-0 to Hansa Rostock, but also because a planned reunion had been canceled.

Döring and former Alemannia coach Benedetto Muzzicato know each other well. “I think it’s a shame that another coach has been suspended. I spent 16 months studying with Benedetto Muzzicato as part of the Pro License program. I was really looking forward to seeing him again,” he said.

Instead, SVWW must once again take the lead with an interim coach: “Two weeks ago against 1860 Munich, we already had a situation where the interim coach took over. That doesn’t make preparing for a game any easier. Nevertheless, we gathered information and did our homework. Every coach has certain ideas and adjustments to the system. Nevertheless, we should stick to our guns and focus on our strengths.”

Despite everything, Lars Gindorf is likely to start up front again. The 24-year-old striker has already scored seven goals and provided two assists for Alemannia in eight games.

Points Table

Three of those goals came in the 3-2 away win at Rot-Weiss Essen. “Above all, he has a lot of nerve. In the game against Essen, he converted three penalties cleanly and effectively, so he’s a cool customer. What’s more, he’s a player who makes a real difference. He’s very agile, always finds space in between the lines and is a very important factor in Alemannia’s transition play. We have to defend him as a team,“ warned Döring.

Nevertheless, Wiesbaden’s goal is clear: ”We want to win games and be a top team that competes at the top. But to do that, we have to perform accordingly. We’ve managed to do that in recent weeks. We didn’t reach our performance limit against Rostock, so we need to do better again now. If we succeed in doing that, I am firmly convinced that we will take the three points and climb back up the table.”
