Alemannia Aachen is stepping on the gas in its personnel planning for next season. Another regular has extended his contract.
The teams in the Regionalliga West are busy planning the new season – and Alemannia Aachen is one of the clubs that want to position themselves in the race for promotion.
The Kaiserstädter are currently underpinning this with personnel announcements for the coming season. On Thursday afternoon, they announced their third commitment for 2023/24 within 48 hours.
Frederic Baum will remain loyal to TSV. The midfielder signed a new contract after Alemannia extended Julian Schwermann on Tuesday and signed Bastian Müller from Wuppertaler SV on Wednesday.
Baum is not only an Aachen homegrown, but a regular in coach Helge Hohl’s team. The 22-year-old has made 20 appearances in the Regionalliga and has always been in the starting eleven since matchday 14 – he was only hampered by a yellow ban at the beginning of March.
Surely a welcome development for the club and especially for Baum himself. In the past, he was plagued by injuries, and last season he only made three appearances due to a torn cruciate ligament.
“Freddy exemplifies what it means to play for this club and also leads the way as a younger player,” Aachen’s general manager Sascha Eller is quoted as saying about the extension. “In the last few months he has often shown us his playing and fighting qualities after his lengthy injury last season.”
Baum himself says that despite concrete offers, “he wants to take the next steps together with Alemannia. With the outstanding fans and the stadium, we have the best conditions to achieve our common goals together.”
Baum is the seventh fixed player for next season. In addition to him, Schwermann and newcomer Müller, Marcel Johnen, Franko Uzelac, Vleron Statovci and Benjamin Hemcke have contracts beyond the summer.
