“Absolute dream candidate” comes from Regionalliga West

Sportfreunde Lotte have announced the next transfer. It is an experienced defender from the Regionalliga West.

Sportfreunde Lotte’s personnel planning is going from strength to strength these days. The team, which was relegated from the Regionalliga, has now signed an experienced defender for its new start in the Oberliga Westfalen. It is Simon Schubert, who last played for SV Lippstadt in the Regionalliga West.

The 31-year-old brings with him the experience of 85 Fourth Division appearances and 184 games in the Oberliga Westfalen. Sportfreunde described Schubert as coach Fabian Lübbers’ “absolute favourite candidate”. The coach and the newcomer know each other very well, as Lübbers also played in the defence of SV Lippstadt until the end of the previous season.

“I have been on the field with Simon for several years. That’s why I’m convinced of his qualities on and off the pitch,” said Lübbers about the transfer. “In addition, he already knows the Oberliga Westfalen very well from his stations in Gütersloh and Wiedenbrück! He will be able to help our team extremely with all his experience.” Schubert is the 17th new arrival at the Autobahnkreuz so far.
