MSV Duisburg has unveiled its next new signing. This player comes from the Regionalliga Nordost and is addition number ten.
Addition number ten is fixed! MSV Duisburg has unveiled the next player and now has 14 players under contract for the 2024/2025 season. That means around ten players are still missing.
From the Spree to the Rhine: Patrick Sussek is now wearing Zebra stripes. Born in Bavaria, he joins the Duisburg club from FC Dynamo in Berlin.
He only missed one game for north-east runners-up BFC Dynamo last season and played in all 33 other league matches. He scored two goals and provided five assists. In total, Sussek has made 123 appearances in the regional league (18 goals, 19 assists) and 17 in the third division (no goals, no assists)
“Patrick was already on his way to establishing himself in professional soccer, but was unfortunately set back. He is a technically good one-on-one player who has ideas and solutions in tight spaces. We are looking forward to his refreshing way of playing soccer,” said MSV squad planner Chris Schmoldt.
Duisburg coach Dietmar Hirsch added: “A very exciting player who fought his way through the youth ranks of FC Ingolstadt to the 3rd division, but then unfortunately missed the boat a little in the league after breaking his metatarsal. He then took the route via the regional league, worked his way back impressively and will enliven our attacking play with his quality and flexibility. A dynamic winger, often down the left flank, who then likes to move inside with his strong right foot, but also has no problem crossing with his left – in other words, someone who is very difficult to count out!”
