After a difficult year for Borussia Dortmund, Marco Reus thanks the fans for their support.
Borussia Dortmund’s former captain Marco Reus has thanked the BVB fans for their support after a difficult year.
“I just wanted to say thank you for the incredible support this year. I know sometimes it’s not that easy, but we’re still very grateful that you’re there for us and that you always support us, no matter what the times are,” Reus said in a video message on Christmas Eve from the runners-up, adding, ”Let’s hope for a much, much better year in 2024.”
The Dortmunders have a turbulent year behind them. The team, coached by Edin Terzic, experienced an emotional low on match day 34 of the previous season, when the black and yellows, as league leaders, lost the championship to FC Bayern. The new season has also been a mixed bag: while the team topped its group in the Champions League and made it to the round of 16, BVB is lagging far behind its own expectations in the Bundesliga, where it is currently in fifth place. In the DFB Cup, it was knocked out in the round of 16.
