After Dennis Grote – 2nd Bundesliga player also out for months

Bitter for Preußen Münster. Coach Sascha Hildmann currently has three nominal regulars unavailable. Two of these absentees will have to take a break for months.

SC Preußen Münster will have to do without its winger Dominik Schad for the next few months. This is the third loss for coach Sascha Hildmann’s team after captain Marco Lorenz (calf injury) and veteran Dennis Grote (cruciate ligament rupture).

The 26-year-old, who moved from the 2nd Bundesliga to Hammer Straße from 1. FC Kaiserslautern in the summer and has played the full distance in both third division games so far, tore a lateral ligament in his right knee in the away game at Arminia Bielefeld and will require surgery. He is expected to be out of action for several months. The third division club made the official announcement on Tuesday (22 August).

“This is bitter news that I am incredibly sorry for Dominik in particular. He is a super guy who has settled into the team in a very short time and has already shown his qualities on the pitch. We will now support him with all our might and accompany him closely on his way back onto the pitch,” emphasised Peter Niemeyer, Managing Director Sport.

On Tuesday evening (22 August, 7 p.m.), Preußen Münster will continue without Schad. FC Ingolstadt will be playing at the Preußenstadion. After the 0:4 in the derby at Arminia Bielefeld, Coach Hildmann hopes for a reaction from his team.

“In Bielefeld it was a blatant situation. In all statistics we are ahead of Bielefeld, only the result speaks against us. That’s when we picked up a bloody nose. I saw my players angry afterwards. That’s how it should be – and we have to leave that on the pitch tomorrow,” said the 51-year-old at the press conference before the Ingolstadt game.

Hildmann continued: “We have to be awake for 95 minutes on Tuesday night, that is also a quality and Ingolstadt will demand that of us. Ingolstadt attacked and pressed very high against Halle. We have to pay attention to that. We have to continue to be brave, but above all we have to be clever. “
