After incidents in Hamburg: 96 boss Kind presses charges

The incidents at the soccer match between HSV and 96 have repercussions. Hannover boss Martin Kind wants to take action against banners in the 96 fan block.

Following the incidents at the northern clash between Hamburger SV and Hannover 96, 96 boss Martin Kind will press charges over the banners displayed in the Hannover supporters’ block. “It is known that the Hamburg public prosecutor’s office will take action. But Martin Kind will also press charges himself,” the second-division club announced on Monday.

Three banners were displayed in the 96 fan block during the second half of the Lower Saxony’s 4-3 win at HSV on Friday evening, showing the stylized likenesses of leading figures from potential strategic DFL partners CVC and Blackstone as well as 96 managing director Kind in the crosshairs. The match was then interrupted for more than 30 minutes.

Hannover also announced that it would review and change its security structures. It cannot be ruled out that parts of the changed security concept planned for the coming season will be implemented this season, the club announced. The club did not provide any further details.
