SSV Jahn Regensburg go into the top match at SSV Ulm 1846 as the runners-up – because the points were shared against 1860 Munich. It remains tight at the top.
Jahn Regensburg wanted to regain the top spot in the 3rd division. After SSV Ulm 1846 won the top match against Preußen Münster on Saturday, Jahn had to win against 1860 Munich to regain the lead in the table.
In the end, Jahn even had the visitors to thank for the 1:1 (0:0) draw, as Munich missed several high-caliber chances that would have decided the game.
There was very little going on on the pitch in the first half. Munich had the best opportunity after just four minutes. Löwen attacker Fynn Lakenmacher had a free shot from eleven meters out, but failed to beat Jahn keeper Felix Gebhardt. Eliot Muteba also had another chance (24′), but he too missed.
Not much more happened after that and the teams went into the break goalless. It was a similar picture after the changeover – only this time the visitors made the most of their opportunity after an excellent counter-attack.
In the end, Morris Schröter left his opponent standing with a hook and scored to make it 1:0. Michael Glück almost made it 2:0 a few minutes later, but his header hit the crossbar.
The aluminum cracker briefly woke up Jahn, Noah Ganaus had a chance to equalize, but 1860 Munich continued to have the better actions. And it was Lakenmacher again who carelessly missed a goal. From eight meters out, he was able to pick out the corner, but he failed to beat the goalkeeper and missed the preliminary decision (72′).
Abdenego Nankishi also wanted to join in the “Lions'” proliferation of chances – three minutes after Lakenmacher, he only hit the outside of the net from the best position.
And it came as it had to. The missed chances took their revenge, as Regensburg equalized in the 81st minute. Elias Huth scored with the first shot on goal after a corner to make it 1:1.
It was a completely different picture after that, with only the home side still playing. But it remained 1:1. Jahn Regensburg will continue with the top match at first place SSV Ulm (Sunday, April 21, 7:30 p.m.). 1860 Munich play against 1. FC Saarbrücken on Saturday (April 20, 2 p.m.)
