Even before the kick-off against Lippstadt, fans of Rot-Weiß Oberhausen demand the dismissal of the coach and then see RWO squander a 1-0 lead.

The atmosphere at Rot-Weiß Oberhausen could hardly have been more tense even before the home game against SV Lippstadt kicked off. RWO fans unfurled a banner behind the goal reading “Nowak out”. An appeal against the coach, which was repeated with loud shouts.

90 minutes later, the frustration had grown. The Oberhausen team had to accept the second draw (1:1) against a relegation candidate within a few days after the 0:0 against Borussia Mönchengladbach II. Sven Kreyer had defied the unrest early on with a shot from the edge of the penalty area and scored the 1:0. Shortly afterwards, after preliminary work by Moritz Stoppelkamp, he narrowly missed the 2:0. The visitors initially allowed the home side to press them back completely.

Lippstadt only grew in courage after a half-hour mark. Lars Holtkamp had the best chance to make it 1:1 after winning one of the many duels in midfield, but he failed to lay it off for the unmarked Viktor Maier in front of goal (42′).

RWO came out more active after the break, but SVL soon became more daring again. The reward? The 1:1 by Maier. A loss of possession, followed by a frighteningly passive work ethic from the Oberhausen defense, made it possible (57′).

RWO did create an opportunity after that, with Sebastian Mai shooting over (71), but they then invited the visitors to have their next chance through Robin Benz. The keeper was just able to clear the ball on the line (74).

SV Lippstadt were closer to winning in the final stages than the home side, but Benz managed to keep the ball out. However, the 1-1 in Oberhausen is unlikely to have helped calm the situation.
