Jacek Goralski has left VfL Bochum again. After only one year, the club and the player agreed to terminate the contract.
At VfL Bochum, Jacek Goralski was one of the players without prospects until the end. Now the club and the Polish midfielder have found a solution: They agreed to terminate the contract, which originally had one year to run, the Bundesliga club announced on Thursday evening.
“Sometimes in football things don’t develop in the direction we wanted or planned. We have agreed that an early termination of the contract makes sense for both sides,” explained sporting director Marc Lettau. “Jacek has behaved in an exemplary manner at all times and we thank him for his commitment to VfL. We wish him all the best for his further sporting and personal future.”
It is not known where Goralski will continue his career. What is clear, however, is that the signing of the 30-year-old last summer turned out to be a big misunderstanding.
The defensive midfielder came to Castroper Straße as an international and captain of the Kazakh club Kairat Almaty. But he was already absent for a longer period of time during the preparation, and in the first few weeks of the season he had further injury problems. In total, Goralski only made four appearances for the VfL (145 minutes). Most of the time, he did not even make it into the matchday squad.
With the termination of his contract, the Revierklub management can cross another candidate for a departure off their list. Most recently, they had already sent Gerrit Holtmann on loan to Antalyaspor in Turkey. VfL would also probably not put any obstacles in the way of the talents Moritz Römling and Luis Hartwig as well as Jordi Osei-Tutu.
