That’s life: For one club there was very sad news today, meanwhile another club may rejoice.
Not only in life, but also in sport: there are simply days to forget and on the other hand there are moments of great joy.
While 1. FC Kaan-Marienborn, fourth (!) in the Regionalliga West, announced its withdrawal to Kreisliga C (!), TuS Bövinghausen has every reason to rejoice.
After the call for help in RevierSport regarding a stadium suitable for the Regionalliga, the ambitious Dortmund Oberliga club can rejoice.
TuS Bövinghausen will apply to the WDFV (West German Football Association) to be allowed to play in the Ischeland Stadium in Hagen. This is to be the Dortmund team’s new home in the regional league – provided, of course, that they are promoted.
“Everything went super smoothly. I picked up the phone on Thursday morning and called Karsten-Thilo Raab, the service manager for sport in the city of Hagen. He knew immediately what it was all about because the RevierSport report had made waves all over Germany. It’s amazing how many messages I received, and from everywhere. I’d like to thank him again for that,” Ajan Dzaferoski told RevierSport.
This is a prime example for German authorities of how things should actually work. Simply great! A huge thank you to Mr Raab and also a big praise to the city of Hagen. We got the signature and forwarded the stadium declaration to the federation.

The boss of TuS Bövinghausen reveals further: “We then arranged to meet at 2 p.m. and everything was sorted out within a short time. Everything was completely unbureaucratic and straightforward. That’s how it should be. That’s a prime example of how things should actually work for German authorities. Simply great! A huge thank you to Mr. Raab and also a big praise to the city of Hagen. We got the signature and forwarded the stadium declaration to the federation.”
The Ischeland Stadium, which is about 30 kilometres away from Provinzialstraße, the home of TuS Bövinghausen, has not been used by any team recently. It seats a total of 17,000 fans and fulfils all the requirements to meet regional league demands. “It just needs a little lift, a little make-up from us. That’s what the stadium will get. We know the right people there to give the good part a nice makeover,” says Dzaferoski.
According to RS information, Bövinghausen will have to pay the city of Hagen a small four-figure rent per home game. In addition, TuS then provides the catering and security as well as everything else that is needed on a regional league match day.
But one thing is clear: Bövinghausen is three points ahead in the regional league after twelve matchdays, but TuS has been weakening recently. Dzaferoski emphasises: “I will make an announcement to the team at training on Thursday evening. We are taking care of the infrastructure and everything is as good as settled. Now it’s the team’s turn to do the sporting thing. “
