For a long time, people were wondering who would coach KFC Uerdingen in the coming season. Levan Kenia? Sunay Acar? Michél Dinzey? Here comes the answer.

KFC Uerdingen have a new head coach. As the Krefeld club announced on Thursday, June 20, Michél Dinzey will take over the future Regionalliga West representative.

“It is a great honor for me to be able to coach a traditional club like KFC Uerdingen. This club has great potential, with the venerable Grotenburg and its loyal supporters,” said Dinzey, looking forward to the new task.

As a player, Dinzey played for VfB Stuttgart, FC St. Pauli and Hertha BSC, among others. As a coach, he has worked for the national team of Antigua and Barbuda and the U20 of the Democratic Republic of Congo, among others. Most recently, the Berlin native worked as a scout for Hertha BSC. He had previously also performed this role at several other clubs such as TSG Hoffenheim.

“Michél is exactly the man who best met our requirements profile. With his personality, he fits in well with our KFC and has also known his new assistant coach René Lewejohann for many years,” added sporting director Adalet Güler.

This also puts an end to the confusion surrounding the head coach position at KFC Uerdingen. Levan Kenia, Krefeld’s promotion coach, had told Forecasting himself at the beginning of June that he did not believe he would continue at KFC. He was proved right.

Sunay Acar was also in the draw. According to Forecasting, the coach with regional league experience has a valid contract with KFC. However, he is not expected to take up the post. Christian Gummert, KFC board member, confirmed this to Forecasting.

“Yes, I can confirm that. But it is also a fact that Sunay Acar will not be a coach here. That will definitely not be the case! Our lawyers are currently checking whether this contract is legally valid. If it is, then we will hold the people whose signatures are on the contract liable.”

KFC has now found its head coach and can continue its pre-season preparations
