Again no win, again no goal conceded – no score against Bocholt

Rot-Weiß Oberhausen missed out on a win in their Regionalliga home match against 1. FC Bocholt. The match ended 0:0 – once again.

Rot-Weiß Oberhausen’s zero-number series continues. In their home match against 1. FC Bocholt on Saturday afternoon, the cloverleaves could not get beyond a 0:0 – for the third time in a row.

RWO thus missed the jump into the top flight, but remained without defeat in the eighth game in a row and without conceding a goal for the fifth time. Meanwhile, Bocholt defended their one-point lead over coach Jörn Nowak’s team.

The first top chance of the game belonged to the hosts. A corner landed with Pierre Fassnacht completely free, who could not put the ball in the goal (11th).

In the course of the first half, there were more chances on both sides. The guests from the Niederrhein got better and better into the game – but no goals were scored until the half-time whistle. Instead, RWO had to make a change due to injury: Marius Kleinsorge had to go off, Tobias Boche replaced him (41st).

After about an hour Bocholt sniffed at the lead. Lukas Frenkert headed onto the aluminium after a corner kick. Oberhausen’s offensive, however, hardly took place in the second half – even four fresh players could not change that.

In the final phase, there was a little excitement – but not of a sporting nature. Bocholt’s coach Dietmar Hirsch had to leave the pitch. He was shown a yellow card within a few seconds of the match. The coach did not get to see a late goal from the stands.

The next match for RWO is an away game at 1. FC Düren (Saturday, 7 October, 2 p.m.). At the same time, Bocholt host FC Gütersloh.
