After the 0:3 defeat in Bocholt, Alemannia Aachen mastered the compulsory task in the Middle Rhine Cup with ease. A regional league team now awaits in the second round.
Only three days after the clear 0:3 defeat against regional league leaders 1. FC Bocholt, Alemannia Aachen were in demand again. In the catch-up match of the first round of the Mittelrhein Cup, the Aacheners faced district league side Hilal Maroc Bergheim. It was agreed in advance that the match would be played at the Tivoli and not in Bergheim.
Coach Heiner Backhaus rotated his squad heavily against the third-placed team in the Mittelrhein district league. Only Robin Afamefuna, Kilian Pagliuca, Julian Schwermann and Vleron Statovci were back in the starting eleven compared to the defeat at the Hünting, with 18-year-old defensive player Noah Förster from the U19s also getting a chance.
Everything is clear at the break
The Aacheners needed a little time to get going, but then it all came thick and fast. Schwermann opened the scoring in the 19th minute and by half-time, Vincent Schaub (24th/29th/44th), Pagliuca (27th) and Brasnic (31st) had increased the score to a comfortable 6:0.
Backhaus made four changes at the break, Aachen dropped down a gear, but one player was still in the mood. Beyhan Ametov used his 25th birthday as an opportunity to score a treble (64th/71st/89th). Dustin Willms also got on the scoresheet shortly before the end (87′), which is why the final score was even in double figures
