Alemannia Essen can still call itself a potential promotion contender in the Kreisliga A. Third in the table with a gap of just seven points, the season is completely open.
The season is far from over for Alemannia Essen. Behind the leading duo Fatihspor Essen and SC Frintrop 05/21, Alemannia is still in the hunt in Essen’s Kreisliga A. With a gap of just seven points, the Essen club can still hold out hope of promotion. However, this does not appear to be priority number one.

The first half of the league season: “I’m already satisfied with the first half of the season and the soccer year in general. I’ve taken over a very young and inexperienced squad here at Alemannia, which is really good in terms of running and fighting. We still have deficits in the tactical area, but we are working on that. So it’s very positive that we’re still right at the top.”
What was your best moment? “There have been many. It’s hard to pick the best one. I would probably say the way the team welcomed me. It was immediately harmonious and I didn’t have to change. Even when I had to get loud, the squad took it in stride and didn’t hold it against me. That makes me happy, of course.”
What was your worst moment? “That would have to be the defeat against SC Frintrop. We were superior throughout the game and still lost. The refereeing, which wasn’t the best either, naturally made us even more frustrated. That’s what upset me the most.”
Alemannia’s goals in the soccer year 2024: “I have to say that I’m a coach who always sets his sights higher than before. Of course, my dream would be for us to have a say in the promotion race. Realistically, however, Fatihspor will do that. They have too much money and we can’t compete with them. That’s why our priority is to build up the team. Our average age is 21.5 years. We want to get more experience into the thin squad. If we don’t manage to get promoted this year, we want to attack again next season
