Already 1,500 tickets sold! RWO Christmas carol singing in high demand

Rot-Weiß Oberhausen is once again offering its fans Christmas carol singing this year. It’s in high demand.

Christmas carol singing with and for fans has become fashionable for many clubs and is now part of the calendar for many clubs before the festive season, just like the start of the season. Rot-Weiß Oberhausen has also jumped on the bandwagon and is offering its fans Christmas carol singing at the Niederrhein Stadium for the fourth time this year.

And it is very popular with RWO fans. The club has now announced that 1,500 tickets have already been sold for this event on December 7, 2024. This means that only 500 tickets are still available. Capacity has already been increased due to high demand last year.

This year, the Christmas sing-along will accommodate 2,000 guests. “After three weeks, over 1,500 tickets have already been sold, which underlines the great anticipation and interest in this special event,” the club writes on its website. “The Christmas carol singing in the stadium, which is organized jointly by evo and RWO, has developed into a beloved tradition in recent years, bringing people from all over the region together to sing the most beautiful Christmas carols and get in the mood for the festive season.”

The stage and the Christmas market in front of the RevierKraft grandstand will also be bigger. The festivities will begin at 3 p.m. on the festively decorated forecourt. The singing itself will start at 6 p.m. The event will end at around 8:30 p.m. Admission costs $8 per person (children aged 5 to 14: $4). For the first time, VIP tickets are also available for $90, which include a buffet and drinks.

Christmas classics, Christmas pop songs, and atmospheric and humorous pieces for the Advent season will be sung together with singer Nito Torres.

It all began in 2003 at Union Berlin, when a few soccer fans from “Eisern Union” secretly met in the stadium to sing Christmas carols.
