Another personnel decision has been made at KFC Uerdingen. The Krefeld club is looking for a new press officer.
Apparently, many media representatives are having the same problems getting answers to their questions from regional league club KFC Uerdingen these days.
No matter where you look, you always get the same answer. Questions are submitted, they are forwarded by press spokesman Kai Murek, but the board is currently refraining from responding.
That’s not to say that they don’t want to say anything. There is simply no feedback whatsoever – even internally, communication does not seem to be much more substantial.
Murek has therefore resigned from his position, apparently informing the board and the administrative council of his decision on Thursday. On the one hand, he cites the time commitment, as he performs the role on a voluntary basis alongside a full-time job.
On the other hand, he explains that a press spokesman can only be as good as the rest of the staff. Apparently, he was rarely brought on board, which is why he complains that those responsible preferred to go directly to selected press representatives instead of using the club’s channels.
This was the case when the main sponsor, Gangbild GmbH, the company of CEO Thomas Platzer, was announced via the media but has not yet been confirmed by the club. The Krefeld team still has no name on their jerseys – and will probably still be without one on Saturday when they play Borussia Mönchengladbach’s U23 team in the league.
This is yet another chapter in recent days that shows that the traditional club is unable to find a basis from which it can move forward in an orderly manner. How can sponsors be persuaded to join KFC?
Especially since the club is still facing insolvency. Several people, some of whom have been waiting for payments from KFC for several months, now have the option of filing for external insolvency.
