The Westfalen-Oberliga clubs are busy on the transfer market. ASC 09 Dortmund have secured a talented player, while Westfalia Rhynern have made two signings.
ASC 09 Dortmund have unveiled their second new external summer signing: Keanu Diskau moves from SV Lippstadt U19 to Dortmund-Aplerbeck. ASC, who finished the 2023/24 season in third place in the Oberliga Westfalen, had already secured the services of left-back Daniel Tews.
The 18-year-old can play in both defense and offense and has also made two appearances in the SVL’s regional league squad in recent weeks. In the past season, the U19 captain, who has been trained exclusively at SV Lippstadt, scored six goals in the Westfalenliga. He also gained experience in the B-Junior Bundesliga with the U17s. There he played 15 games for Lippstadt in the 2021/22 season.
“My goals for next season are to develop as a footballer and take the next step. I want to celebrate success with ASC,” Diskau is quoted as saying on the club’s Facebook page. “I decided to accept the offer from Aplerbeck because everyone at the club made me feel part of the team right from the start and gave me a warm welcome.”
Samir Habibovic, sporting director of ASC 09, told “FuPa Westfalen”: “We are very confident in Keanu, he has what it takes to make the leap into the first eleven next season.” With David Vaitkevicius (TuS Ennepetal), Max Kolberg (SG Finnentrop-Bamenohl), Semin Kojic, Ermias Simatos, Mauritz Mißner and Tomislav Simic (all destination unknown), six departures have been confirmed so far.
From Westfalenliga 1 – Rhynern brings back two ex-players
Westfalia Rhynern have poached from one of their city rivals in Hamm and bagged their sixth and seventh new signings. Mergim Deljiu and Rafael Lopez Zapata come from SG Bockum-Hövel in the Westfalenliga. Both are returning to their old club and following in the footsteps of their former coach David Schmidt, who coached the SG until April and is now sporting director at Rhynern.
“Rafa and Mergim are among the best attacking players in the region. And with the two of them, we’ve been able to win back two boys alongside Jonah Wagner who have a past in Rhynern,” Schmidt told the local newspaper “Westfälischer Anzeiger”. “I’m sure that they will also be able to assert themselves a league higher and have a similar scoring rate. The spectators in Rhynern will have a lot of fun with the two of them”.
Rhynern had previously signed Jonah-Frederik Wagner (Hammer SpVg), Marcel Brylka (RW Westönnen), Moritz Müller (Holzwickeder SC), Lamine Kourouma (SG Finnentrop-Bamenohl) and Finn Schubert (SC Neheim) for the new season
