Great sadness at Kickers Offenbach. A real Kickers legend has died at the age of only 46. The OFC informed about this.
Great mourning at Bieberer Berg: As Kickers Offenbach announced on Monday, the former Kickers striker Suat Türker has died at the age of 46. The cause of the ex-goal scorer’s untimely death was not disclosed.
Türker was one of the heroes of Kickers Offenbach’s promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga in the 2004/05 season and always had the OFC in his heart. A true Kickers legend, as the club titled Türker.
In 2003, the striker and crowd favourite moved to Offenbach and spent five years with the OFC. In the 2nd Bundesliga, he scored 37 goals in 89 games for OFC.
“His goals and his passion for playing for Kickers Offenbach made the OFC fans cheer in rows. After short spells at other clubs, Suat Türker always returned to the Bieberer Berg and ended his active career in red and white.
He was a guest in the Traditionsloge at home matches on several occasions and was also at the funeral service for Hermann Nuber in the stadium. The OFC family mourns with the bereaved families and our thoughts are with Suat Türker’s family, relatives and close friends,” reads a statement on the website of Regionalliga-Südwest club Kickers Offenbach.
Born in Bayrut, Turkey, Türker was also under contract with clubs such as Istanbulspor, TSF Ditzingen, FC Bayern München II, TSG Hoffenheim, Young Boys Bern, Borussia Neunkirchen, SC Freiburg and SV Wehen Wiesbaden.
