Alemannia Aachen are currently top of the table in the Regionalliga West. Top scorer Anton Heinz has played a big part in the club’s success.
21 Regionalliga games, 13 goals and six assists – that’s Anton Heinz’s impressive record in an Alemannia Aachen shirt. It’s no wonder that Heinz is his team’s top scorer with 19 goals. His 13 goals this season are unrivaled in the league, making the 26-year-old the top scorer in the Regionalliga West.
In his most recent league appearance against his former club Rot-Weiß Oberhausen, the attacking player was the match-winner with a brace and played a key role in Alemannia Aachen finishing top of the table after 21 games (level on points with 1. FC Bocholt).
Heinz once again scored the 2:0 against RWO from a free-kick, his very own special discipline. It was his sixth direct free-kick goal of the current season. As a result, the Bielefeld native broke his own record from the 2022/23 season. Back then, he sank five free-kicks into the opponent’s goal at Rot-Weiß Oberhausen.
However, the new record was not the only reason for the marksman to celebrate: Heinz celebrated a personal anniversary against RWO and played his 150th game in the Regionalliga West. In these 150 games for SC Verl, SV Lippstadt, Rot-Weiß Oberhausen and now Alemannia Aachen, the 1.87-meter man has been directly involved in a total of 78 goals (48 goals, 30 assists).
In the coming weeks and months, Anton Heinz will have the chance to extend his personal best and improve his goal tally. The next game awaits Heinz and Co. on Sunday (February 18, 2 p.m.), when the Kaiserstädter host FC Schalke 04 U23 at the Parkstadion.
