Bad news for Sportfreunde Siegen. An attacker will be out of action for a long time for the Oberliga club, which is facing relegation.
The Oberliga team of Sportfreunde Siegen continue to suffer from injury luck.
After Daniel Waldrich was already out with tendonitis and Eli Pinner broke his fibula in a friendly against the club’s U19 team, forward Lars Schardt was also injured in training. He will also be out for a long time for coach Thorsten Nehrbauer.
After the 27-year-old Schardt landed on his shoulder during training, he had to stop the session prematurely. The diagnosis is now a separated shoulder joint and Siegen will have to continue to do without Schardt, who still has to serve two matches of his red suspension in the current season.
Coach Nehrbauer should be all the more pleased that three winter signings have been presented to date.
The latest signing is Markus Pazurek, an experienced defensive midfielder who joins the fifth division club from SSVg Velbert, where he played in 16 games and scored five goals in the first half of the Regionalliga West season.
Pazurek has 154 matches in the third division under his belt, playing for Fortuna Cologne, 1. FC Saarbrücken and VfB Stuttgart II. The family man has also played 167 matches in the Regionalliga West for clubs such as 1. FC Kaan-Marienborn, Borussia Mönchengladbach II and SSVg Velbert.
The relegation-threatened club had already caused a stir by signing Andre Dej. The 31-year-old most recently played for league rivals TuS Bövinghausen.
The versatile midfielder Dej has already played 90 games in the 3rd division for Viktoria Cologne and Sportfreunde Lotte. He scored eleven goals and provided 14 assists. He also made 184 appearances in the West German Regional League (25 goals, 22 assists) for Rot Weiss Ahlen, Fortuna Cologne, Alemannia Aachen, Lotte, Viktoria Cologne – and Sportfreunde Siegen.
Pazurek and Dej are the second and third winter reinforcements. Siegen also previously signed Georgios Mavroudis (SG Finnentrop/Bamenohl). Meanwhile, Maximilian Kraft (TSV Weißtal) and Andreas Busik (destination unknown) have left the club.
