Arminia Bielefeld are strengthening their squad after a disappointing season in the 3rd division.
After Lukas Kunze (VfL Osnabrück), Mika Schroers (Gladbach II), Stefano Russo (Viktoria Köln) and goalkeeper Jonas Kersken (Borussia Mönchengladbach), third division club Arminia Bielefeld have made their fifth external signing with Joel Felix.
The 26-year-old central defender joins from Danish cup winners Silkeborg IF. Felix won the Danish Cup final with Silkeborg on May 9, 2024 with a 1:0 win against Aarhus GF and was on the pitch for the entire match. ‘
“Joel Felix fits the profile of a central defender that we have defined for our team. With his personality, his experience at national and international level and his athletic quality, he will be an important part of our squad. In addition to his understanding of the game and his physicality, his left-footedness will open up new opportunities for us, particularly in the build-up play. Over the past few months, we have worked together very intensively and confidentially to ensure that this transfer could be realized. We are all very pleased to be able to convince a top central defender from the Danish 1st division to join Arminia Bielefeld and to convince him of our path,” explained sporting director Michael Mutzel and head coach Mitch Kniat.
The player himself explained after signing his contract: “Arminia Bielefeld has made a lot of effort to win me over in recent months. This leap of faith, the sporting concept and the prospect of playing for a traditional German club convinced me 100 percent. The talks with the people in charge, my impressions on site, a great stadium, the new training center and also the great fans got me excited very early on. Becoming part of this club feels very good after signing.”
Defensive talent for Erzgebirge Aue
FC Erzgebirge Aue have signed a talented 19-year-old right-back in Maxim Burghardt. The right-back moves to Aue from Eintracht Trier and has signed a contract with FCE until June 2027.
“We looked closely at this interesting player, who has all the prerequisites for the 3rd division and a promising development,” explained sporting director Matthias Heidrich. Maxim Burghardt played 34 games in the top division in his first year as a man, scoring three goals and setting up seven goals with his remarkable attacking drive.
