In the match between Erzgebirge Aue and Rot-Weiss Essen, home fans present a flag of the visitors and mock some RWE fans.

Just over half an hour into the second half of the season in the match between Erzgebirge Aue and Rot-Weiss Essen (live in the RS ticker), the visiting fans were looking in the direction of the home curve. Fans of Erzgebirge Aue presented a flag of the RWE supporters in their own curve – appropriately upside down.

There was also a banner a few meters above the flag in the purple and white fan block. “Rot-Weiss Essen. Drink, eat, forget the flag” was written on a piece of wallpaper. Apparently, Essen supporters had forgotten their flag during a visit to a restaurant. The Aue supporters mocked the RWE fans in this way.

The Essen fans in the Aue guest block barely reacted to the action of the Aue supporters. They sent unfriendly greetings to the home curve with a chant, but nothing more came from the fans from the Ruhrpott. Around 550 RWE fans supported their team in the Erzgebirge.

Among Ultras, the flag is a kind of shrine. It is the most important utensil of the respective group. In the past, groups have broken up time and again when they have lost. However, the flag presented by Aue fans was not a fence flag of one of the Essen Ultra groups. As a result, the reactions from the Essen curve were quite restrained.
