Preußen Münster picked up four points from their last two games. This was also thanks to the SCP goalkeeper.
Johannes Schenk has been in goal for SC Preußen Münster for four games now. The 20-year-old has replaced the SCP icon Maximilian Schulze Niehues in the goal.
And just a few hours after the 2:2 draw with SC Freiburg’s second team, Schenk’s next reward followed. First, Sascha Hildmann called him into the Prussian goal and now Hannes Wolf called him up to the German U20 national team squad.
On Monday morning (November 13), the 20-year-old received the news that he had been called up for the current U20 national team training session. “An invitation to the U20 national team is always a special honor. Johannes recently proved his quality in the 3rd division and will now spend a week training with the best talents of his age. These are important experiences that will only help him in his further development. We are therefore very happy for him,” emphasized SCP Managing Director Sport Peter Niemeyer.
Schenk will arrive late for the training course, which starts at the beginning of the week in Munich. Training sessions at the FC Bayern Munich campus are scheduled until November 15, after which the U20 national team will travel to Romania until November 18, where they will play a test against the Romanian national team of the same age (November 17, 6 p.m.). Schenk is of course very familiar with the Bayern campus. After all, the Schweinfurt native spent six years at the German record champions’ youth academy between 2017 and 2023.
The training course will conclude in Regensburg, where head coach Hannes Wolf’s team will play another test against England’s U20s (November 20, 6 p.m.). Schenk will be back in Münster from November 22 and will prepare with the team for the third division home match against Viktoria Köln.
