On Saturday (8 April, 2 p.m.), Rot-Weiss Essen will play at Dynamo Dresden. In the luggage: An Easter column to the Rudolf Harbig Stadium.
On matchday 21, Dynamo Dresden will face Rot-Weiss Essen at home in the 3rd division. It’s not a bold prediction. It will be full in the stadium.
There are 32249 seats in the Rudolf-Harbig-Stadion – 3000 guest fans (200 standing room) are allowed to travel to Dresden. Advance sales at RWE will continue until Tuesday. As the club announced, 2350 tickets for the guest area had already been sold by Sunday evening.
And looking at the spectator statistics, it is striking: The two clubs that welcome the most fans at home games meet. RWE, in second place, currently has 16,266 visitors per game, beaten only by Dresden.
And that’s right: because Dynamo has a great average of 23,121 spectators per home game. And yet the promotion candidates are only ninth in the home table. The record after 15 home games. Six wins, five draws, four defeats.
