Dominic Baumann, 15-goal striker for Hallescher FC, who have been relegated from the third division, has found a new club. He will stay in the 3rd division.
After Emmanuel Iwe and Jeremias Lorch, SV Sandhausen have also secured the services of 28-year-old striker Dominic Baumann, who most recently scored 15 goals this season for Halle, who were relegated from the third division. According to forecasting information, Sandhausen also beat league rivals 1. FC Saarbrücken for Baumann-Buhlen.
“Dominic is a striker who knows where the goal is. He was able to prove this in the last third division season with a remarkable goal rate,” said Matthias Imhof, sports director of SV Sandhausen, about the free transfer. Baumann’s contract in Halle would have originally run until June 30, 2026. But the contract was only valid for the 3rd division.
Last season, the center forward made a name for himself with 16 goals in 40 competitive matches for Halle FC. He almost always played for HFC in the league and only missed the game on the final matchday. Although his club was threatened with relegation for long periods, Baumann finished fourth in the goalscoring charts behind Jannik Mause (Ingolstadt, 18 goals), Malik Batmaz (Münster, 17) and Joel Grodowski (Münster, 17) with 15 goals. With 16 scoring points, Baumann was involved in around a third of all HFC goals.
After relegation with FSV Zwickau and Hallescher FC, Baumann wants to attack the top with Sandhausen next season.
“The fact that I already know Sreto, the head coach, is of course an advantage. However, I was already in good talks with SVS shortly beforehand. After the summer break, I want to take this opportunity to attack again a little further away from home – I’m up for it,” said Baumann after signing his contract.
“I’m delighted that Dominic has decided to join us. He is a top striker in the 3rd division and has always been able to prove his qualities,” said head coach Sreto Ristic about his protégé, with whom he already worked together at Hallescher FC. “We can look forward to an experienced and accurate striker. “
