Bayern are champions in 2023, but Kahn and Salihamidzic are no longer there

In the end, Bayern 2023 did win again, but there are personnel consequences at the record champion. Oliver Kahn shares that he was not allowed to join in the celebrations.

Oliver Kahn wrote on Twitter: “Unbelievable! A huge compliment and congratulations guys! I’ve always told you! Always give everything until the end and never give up. I’m incredibly proud of you and this achievement! I would love to celebrate with you, but unfortunately I can’t be with you today because I was forbidden by the club. I’m looking forward to next season. Not only will we be German champions for the 12th time! Let’s celebrate! MiaSanMeister”

Despite winning the championship, 53-year-old CEO Kahn will not remain in office – which is apparently why he was not allowed to be present at the decisive game in Cologne this Saturday. And sports director Hasan Salihamidzic (46) must also take his hat off at Bayern. This was apparently decided on Friday. And Oliver Kahn’s tweet has gone viral – and in the social media many are complaining about the manner of the sacking.

Some players apparently did not know, coach Tuchel confirmed that he had been informed on Friday. Ex-national goalkeeper Oliver Kahn had replaced Karl-Heinz Rummenigge as Bayern boss two years ago.

Jan-Christian Dreesen (55) is to succeed Oliver Kahn as CEO.

Meanwhile, at Borussia Dortmund – where the championship trophy was eagerly awaited – the fans consoled themselves with song. The Munich side won 2-1 (1-0) at 1. FC Köln, benefiting from BVB’s 2-2 (0-2) draw with FSV Mainz 05.

It is the eleventh championship in a row for Bayern Munich – though it hasn’t been this close in a long time.

FC Schalke 04 are relegated from the Bundesliga alongside Hertha BSC after losing 4-2 at cup finalists RB Leipzig. VfB Stuttgart are awaiting relegation play after a 1:1 (0:0) against Hoffenheim.

At Dortmund, many fans are very sad at the moment.
