Before FC Schalke 04’s home game against Darmstadt 98, the S04 ultras have reissued a classic. Here’s what’s behind it.
On Friday evening, FC Schalke 04 will once again battle it out with SV Darmstadt 98 for the top spot in the 2nd Bundesliga. After four consecutive wins, coach Miron Muslic’s team is the team of the moment. Of course, Schalke’s Veltins-Arena will be sold out again. Before the game against the Lilies, S04 fans will once again have the opportunity to do good. That’s because Ultras Gelsenkirchen has reissued the Nordkurve calendar. Starting with the home game against Darmstadt, the calendars for 2026 will be available for purchase at S04 home games until the winter break. It will be available at all entrances and at the Ultras information stand in the north stand. As in previous years, 75 percent of the proceeds will go to social institutions in Gelsenkirchen. Twenty-five percent will go to the fan organization, which plans to use it to finance future choreographies. The price for the calendar is again €10 this year (€4 plus a minimum donation of €6).
Starting October 27, the Nordkurve calendar can also be ordered via nk-kalender.de. In addition, the calendar will be sold on selected days in Ernst Kuzorra’s former tobacco shop on Kurt-Schumacher-Straße. Last year, 9,000 Schalke fans bought a copy of the calendar featuring fan motifs for the year 2025. “This result shows us once again how deeply rooted the calendar has become among all Schalke fans and what an enormous sense of solidarity it promotes in order to be able to help specific people in our city,” the Ultras wrote on their homepage at the time.
The money was used to support the AWO in the area of family assistance and educational support for Christmas parties and gifts for clients, the Ücky Youth & Children’s Club for the construction of an internal kiosk run by the children & young people, as well as the sports climbing frame on Ückendorfer Straße and the girls’ home. In addition, there were gifts for the individual residential groups at the children’s and youth center and support for the St. Josef House and the Gelsenkirchen food bank. That’s why the Ultras are hoping for lots of supporters again.
