Borussia Dortmund have reached the semi-finals of the German U17 championship. They will probably now face RB Leipzig.
One matchday before the end of the regular season in the U17 Bundesliga West, it is clear which two teams will go through to the final round of the German championship.
Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Dortmund have qualified for the semi-finals. Leverkusen beat Viktoria Köln 4:0, while BVB won 6:0 at Borussia Mönchengladbach.
This meant that FC Schalke’s 2:0 derby win against Rot-Weiss Essen was of no significance. After advancing to the final four, BVB coach Marco Lehmann expressed his delight on the club’s website about the victory and reaching the semi-finals. “Both goals were the result of winning the ball in midfield. It was fun to watch the team. We now go into the games for the German championship with a good feeling.”
And Lars Ricken, Director of the Youth Performance Center, added: “We want to add to this successful season if possible.”
The opponents from BVB and Bayer Leverkusen have not yet been determined. In the U17 Bundesliga South/Southwest, there is a duel between Eintracht Frankfurt and Bayern Munich one matchday before the end of the season. Whereby Eintracht has the best starting position

They have one point more than Bayern and FCB have a tough game against third-placed VfB Stuttgart coming up. Frankfurt play at home against tenth-placed Jahn Regensburg.
In the U17 Bundesliga North/Northeast, RB Leipzig are crowned champions one matchday before the end of the season. They are four points ahead of VfL Wolfsburg.
For BVB and Leverkusen, it is now a question of who will finish first and who will finish second. The derby against Schalke awaits BVB on the final matchday, while Leverkusen have to face RWE. Leverkusen also go into the game on Saturday (April 27) with a two-point lead. There is therefore much to be said for Bayer.
As runners-up, BVB would face RB Leipzig in the semi-finals on Wednesday, May 1 (first leg in Dortmund) and Saturday, May 4. Leverkusen would have to play Frankfurt or Bayern
