Rot-Weiss Essen go into the summit meeting of the U19 Lower Rhine League as leaders. And thanks to the support of Rot-Weiß Oberhausen.
Eight match days before the end of the 2023/2024 season in the U19 Lower Rhine League, Rot-Weiss Essen have retaken the lead in the table.
Coach Simon Hohenberg’s team easily defeated SC St. Tönis 9:0, with Ben Berzen proving to be very accurate for RWE. He scored four goals and now has eight for the season. Milot Ademi also scored twice and now has ten goals for the season.
The fact that RWE is once again top of the table is thanks to the third-division club’s arch-rivals Rot-Weiß Oberhausen.
The RWO U19s defeated Essen’s closest rivals for first place, TSV Meerbusch. Oberhausen defeated Meerbusch 3:1 – their eighth three-pointer in a row – and are now six points behind Rot-Weiss Essen.
RWO can only hope that Meerbusch and RWE take the points away from each other next Sunday – March 17 – and that Oberhausen wins at KFC Uerdingen at the same time. Then it would suddenly be a three-way battle for the place in the sun rather than a two-way one.
