Fortuna Düsseldorf II have hit the transfer market for the ninth time ahead of the new Regionalliga season, strengthening their ranks with an attacker from TSG Hoffenheim II.
Fortuna Düsseldorf II have found what they were looking for in Vincent Wagner and his TSG 1899 Hoffenheim U23 team to bolster their attack. Abdoul Camara is moving from the Regionalliga Südwest to the West division.
The 20-year-old Belgian, who was born in Conakry, Guinea, came through the youth teams of Beerschot, KAA Gent and FC Brugge, among others, before making the leap to Hoffenheim in the summer of 2020. There, he initially played for the U19s for three seasons before making the leap to the second team last season.
Under Vincent Wagner, the winger, who can also play in the attacking center, only made ten appearances for a total of 74 minutes and did not score a goal, but was still able to recommend himself to the Belgian U20 national team. In November 2023, he made two appearances in a test match brace against France (0:1, 2:2). He had previously played for the Red Devils’ U15, U16 and U18 teams

“Despite his young age, Abdoul has already gained a lot of experience at his previous stations,” emphasizes Stefan Vollmershausen, Sporting Director of the Düsseldorf youth academy. “We are therefore delighted that he has decided to join us. With him, we were able to sign a player who can be used flexibly in attack and has exactly the profile we were looking for.”
Camara is the ninth new signing for the Fortuna U23s this summer, in addition to five players from the club’s own U19s. On the flip side, however, there are also 14 departures.
