KFC Uerdingen has new board members. Adalet Güner, however, is no longer part of the board, contrary to what was announced a few days ago.
On September 26, Thomas Platzer, chairman of the board of the regional league team KFC Uerdingen, held a press conference at which he commented on the situation at the crisis-ridden traditional club.
One topic: the replacement of the board, which is why Peter Kahstein also took a seat next to him on the podium. Because Kahstein was to form a three-member board with Platzer and Adalet Güner in the future.
Ten days later, KFC announced that the KFC board of directors had appointed the new members of the board “after extensive deliberation”.
However, Güner is no longer on the board, but Dirk Röthig has been appointed to the committee. On the Uerdingen website it says: “The board of directors thanks the new board members for their willingness to take responsibility for our club and wishes them good luck in shaping the future of KFC Uerdingen 05 e.V.”
That was also said at the press conference at the end of September. Since the new board is in place, Andreas Scholten and Sebastian Thißen, who were previously acting as provisional directors, are no longer part of the board. They are said to have seen a different path for the regional league club than the current board.
The board of directors concluded its report with the words: “The board of directors is aware that, in the context of the discussions about the current problems of the club and the right future direction, a formation of camps has arisen in the club in sometimes heated discussions. We now hope that members, fans, employees, officials, supporters and sponsors will once again stand united behind the club and support the further development of our club, only united can the club develop positively.”
Whereby the board itself has contributed to this, [url=http://www.kfc-koeln.de/news/news-single-view/news/2010/09/24/kfc-muss-weiter-sparen]also through an email to all members in which unsparing criticism was expressed – also to Platzer and the current board. After all, according to the board, the financing of the current season, among other things, has not yet been secured.
Let’s see if the umpteenth reshuffle of the KFC board will now lead the club in the right direction. In any case, according to RS information, the new main sponsor contract, for a sum of 300,000 euros, has been signed.
