Fredi Bobic has resigned from the supervisory board of the German Football League following his departure from Hertha BSC.
Fredi Bobic has resigned from his post as a member of the supervisory board of the German Football League (DFL) following his departure as sports director of Hertha BSC. This was announced by the DFL on Thursday. At the same time, the 51-year-old is leaving the supervisory board of the DFL subsidiary Sportcast and the “Football Commission”. A decision on a successor is to be made at the general meeting in March.
“The supervisory board regrets that Fredi Bobic is leaving the board. We thank him for his commitment and the trusting cooperation in the interests of the Bundesliga and 2nd Bundesliga,” said Hans-Joachim Watzke, chairman of the supervisory board. Hertha had parted company with Bobic after the 2-0 defeat in the derby against Union Berlin last Saturday. The former international had only been in charge for one and a half years and fought exclusively against relegation with the Berliners.
