Bonn loses test match, Siegen loses, Fortuna Cologne heads to Turkey with 28 players

Bonner SC recently put up a respectable fight against a third division team. But SC Verl was simply too strong.

Bonner SC put up a respectable fight in their 1-2 defeat to SSV Ulm 1846. However, SC Verl proved to be too strong. They suffered a 0-5 defeat against Tobias Strobl’s team.

Fynn Otto scored the first goal for the second-placed team in the third division after 42 minutes. After the break, things turned bitter for Bonn. Alessio Besio (58th, 77th), Martin Ens (67th), who is also in the 3rd league’s forecasting eleven for the first half of the season, and Julian Stark (72nd) finally sealed the clear final score in favor of the East Westphalians.

It was a closer game for Sportfreunde Siegen, although the hard facts were the same. The Krönchenstädter lost 2-1 to Carl Zeiss Jena from the Northeast Regional League in Turkey in “partly hurricane-force winds and heavy rain,” as the Jenenser write.

Jannik Krämer had even put the Sportfreunde ahead after 25 minutes. However, Emeka Oduah (27th minute) and Alexander Prokopenko (36th minute) turned the game around in Jena’s favor.
