Important points for two bottom teams against two top teams in the Oberliga Westfalen. Sportfreunde Siegen benefits and temporarily takes the lead in the table.
The 12th match day in the Oberliga Westfalen begins with three games on Saturday. And right in the first game, a statement was made.
Bottom-placed TuS Bövinghausen managed to snatch a point from 1.FC Gievenbeck in a 3-3 draw. The hosts were the first to open the scoring. Jeffrey Malcherek (9th) made it 1-0, but Louis Martin quickly equalized (16th). The teams went into the break with the score at 1-1.
In the second half, Bövinghausen managed to equalize twice. First, Leonardo Twumasi (70th minute) countered Gentrit Muja’s goal (55th minute). Dominik Wasilewski equalized Gievenbeck’s 3-2 lead through Nils Heubrock (75th minute) ten minutes before the final whistle, securing a point for the bottom team.
The match between Victoria Clarholz and Westfalia Rhynern was somewhat less eventful than the one in Dortmund. Sergio Gucciardo’s goal in the 21st minute was the only one of the game, and the hosts celebrated three important points in their battle against relegation. Westfalia, on the other hand, suffered a setback in the race for promotion.
In the third game of the day, Sportfreunde Siegen faced Concordia Wiemelhausen at 6 p.m. Unlike their two rivals Rhynern and Gievenbeck, coach Thorsten Nehrbauer’s team did not put a foot wrong and won 6-0 (4-0) against the second-bottom team. This means that Siegen is at least top of the table for one night.
The game was already over after 45 minutes. Derrick Kyere opened the scoring with a double strike (22nd, 29th), Cagatay Kader (39th) and former Preußen Münster professional Shaibou Oubeyapwa (45th) made it 4-0 at halftime. Georgios Mavroudis (75th minute) and Oubeyapwa (82nd minute) added to the tally in the second half.
With six games remaining, the matchday continues tomorrow (October 27). VfL Bochum II, who can regain top spot with a win at Rot Weiss Ahlen, and SG Wattenscheid (at home against Preußen Münster II) are among those in action.
