The TuS Bövinghausen enters the decisive phase of the season with a new head coach. The new man was introduced on Monday evening.
Ajan Dzaferoski, boss of TuS Bövinghausen, announced a new head coach for this week after the 3:7 defeat against Finnentrop/Bamenohl.
For Kevin Großkreutz had been responsible as player-coach until now. But after his red card at the weekend, he was relieved of this position. The new coach is expected to lead TuS Bövinghausen back on track as early as Thursday (6 April, 7 p.m.) in the away match at Delbrücker SC.
And the new head coach is called Christian Knappmann! “We have decided in favour of ‘Knappi’. He is a positive crazy guy who fits the team at this stage. We firmly believe that Christian Knappmann will move up to the Regionalliga West with us,” Dzaferoski told RevierSport.
The 42-year-old Knappmann had been coach of FC Kray in the Oberliga Niederrhein since 1 December 2022. The ex-professional wanted to lead the Essen side back to the top division in the coming season after they had already been relegated to the Landesliga.
Now his new mission, which is to lead TuS Bövinghausen around world champion Großkreutz, who will leave the club at the end of the season for Wacker Obercastrop, into the Regionalliga West.
Dzaferoski: “We had such a good starting position and still haven’t completely squandered it. We want to attack again with a new coach and realise our Regionalliga dream. “
