Bövinghausen new leader, Rhynern with big points

20th matchday in the Oberliga Westfalen: TuS Bövinghausen draws and takes over the top spot in the table, Westfalia Rhynern moves closer.

On the way to promotion to the regional league, TuS Bövinghausen stumbled at TuS Ennepetal on Sunday. The Dortmund team did not manage more than a 2-2 draw against the relegation candidates.

Ennepetal took the lead through Marius Müller (28th) before Migel Max-Schmeling (31st) and Cedric Golbig (53rd) turned the game around. But Müller struck again (61st) and secured a point for the hosts.

Thanks to the point gain, Bövinghausen takes the lead in the standings for the time being from Preußen Münster’s U23, whose home match against Siegen was cancelled. Münster are not allowed to advance anyway – unlike SC Paderborn’s U21. The SCP had dropped points with a 0-0 draw in Lotte the day before.

Fourth-placed Westfalia Rhynern took advantage of this and moved to within one point. SV won their match on Sunday with 3:2 against Delbrücker SC. The man of the match was winter newcomer Jonas Telschow, who scored all three goals (26th, 44th, 52nd). In the final phase Rhynern had to tremble, because Jannik Tödtmann (52.) and Patrice Heisinger brought Delbrück back into the match (79.). DSC remain bottom of the table after the unrewarded comeback.

FC Gütersloh could have kept pace with Rhynern, who were level on points before the match day. In the home match against TuS Erndtebrück, however, it was only enough for a draw. The score was 1-1 after Lars Schardt (36th) had cancelled out the opening goal by Gütersloh’s Nico Buckmaier (18th).
