The 19th edition of the Sparkassen-Bundesliga-Cup of Sportfreunde Schwäbisch Hall will feature a derby in the U19 semi-final: BVB against Schalke.
The U19 footballers of FC Schalke 04 have reached the semi-finals of the 19th edition of the Sparkassen-Bundesliga-Cup of Sportfreunde Schwäbisch Hall. Thanks to their 5:0 victory in the last match of Group 1 against the hosts, who have been promoted to the Württembergs Verbandsstaffel, coach Norbert Elgert’s team secured second place ahead of Hertha BSC thanks to the better goal difference.
After the Königsblauen had drawn 1-1 with those Berliners in their first match on Friday, Saturday began with an unfortunate 2-1 defeat against VfB Stuttgart, who had surprisingly lost their opening match 3-2 to Sportfreunde Schwäbisch Hall. Erik Lanfer was the only Königsblauer to get on the scoresheet, converting a penalty kick.

After the Schalkers knew that VfB Stuttgart were group winners with six points after their 2-1 win over Hertha BSC, they turned their attention to Berlin’s goal difference – 5:3. So the Schalkers needed a four-goal difference to pull ahead. And they did so in the second half, after Max Grüger had opened the scoring in the first half. Semin Kojic twice, Philip Buczkowski and Evan Rotundo increased the score against Sportfreunde Schwäbisch Hall to 5:0.
In Group B, Borussia Dortmund, the reigning German champions, secured first place with seven points. After their 1-0 win over Manchester United on Friday, coach Mike Tullberg’s side beat TSG 1899 Hoffenheim 3-1 and drew 0-0 with Eintracht Frankfurt, the group runners-up (five points).

The match for third place is scheduled for 2.30 p.m., with the final kicking off at 3.30 p.m.
In the seventh-place match, Sportfreunde Schwäbisch Hall will face Manchester United from 10 a.m., while the fifth-place match will be contested by Hertha BSC and TSG 1899 Hoffenheim from 1.15 p.m.
