Alemannia Aachen will play against the S04 U23s at Schalke on Sunday. There were long faces in the run-up: There were only 800 tickets for the supporters of the league leaders.
On Sunday (2 p.m., RS live ticker), Alemannia Aachen will face the U23s of FC Schalke 04. However, there will be far fewer fans in Gelsenkirchen than expected.
While the leaders of the Regionalliga West gained further confidence by advancing to the semi-finals of the Mittelrhein Cup on Wednesday evening against Viktoria from Cologne, who are higher up the table, there was also bad news for the Alemannia fans to digest.
Contrary to what was originally considered, there will probably be no block swap at the Parkstadion on Sunday after all. Alemannia announced this on their club website. “As things stand at the moment (February 13, 9:00 a.m.), no further tickets will be made available for guest fans and a block swap is also out of the question,” explained the Aacheners.
Guest contingent exhausted – relief train will be used
This means that officially not even 1000 fans from Aachen will be able to attend on Sunday. “The ticket contingent for guest fans was limited to 800 tickets, the tickets are already sold out,” writes the club. A relief train for 600 people will be used.
Both Aachen and FC Schalke 04 have announced that there will also be no box office for Alemannia Aachen fans on Sunday. “There will be no box office for guest fans, only for home fans and neutral visitors,” Aachen communicated. However, this means that sympathizers of Alemannia Aachen will have to refrain from wearing fan clothing if they want to watch the match in the area reserved for Schalke fans.
However, the S04 expresses itself somewhat differently on its homepage: “Tickets for home fans can be purchased via the box office in the Parkstadion. The box office is open from 12 noon.”
No box office for Aachen fans
However, it is clear that parking lot A will be reserved exclusively for supporters of the regional league leaders. Schalke fans cannot use the access via the Medicos or the Parkallee. They should either park in multi-storey parking lot 1 or at the Service Center.
“Aachen supporters will not be able to purchase tickets at the box office in the Parkstadion! Tickets will only be sold in advance via Alemannia,” warns S04. It remains to be seen whether this will deter Aachen fans from traveling to Gelsenkirchen. After all, Schalke know just how creative soccer supporters can be, if you think back to the away game at VfL Bochum last season, for example.
