BVB is under pressure in the Bundesliga title fight. Coach Edin Terzic is not discouraged by this. Sporting director Sebastian Kehl sees the scheduling up to the title final as a disadvantage.
Borussia Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl has criticised the scheduling of the upcoming matchdays in the Bundesliga title race. “I think it’s a certain disadvantage to be behind three times now in the next few weeks,” Kehl told streaming service DAZN ahead of the home game against VfL Wolfsburg. Munich will play ahead of BVB on each of the next two matchdays, as they will this weekend. “We can’t change it, nobody asked us,” said Kehl.
The 2-1 win by league leader FC Bayern at Werder Bremen on Saturday had increased Munich’s lead at the top of the table to four points. BVB can move back to within one point with a win against Wolfsburg. “We want to stay close and keep the pressure up. That is our task,” said Kehl.
Coach Edin Terzic does not want to be discouraged by the recent setbacks in the title fight and the victories of FC Bayern. “It’s not over yet. There are still four tasks, four important games, where we can set things straight. That is in our hands,” said the 40-year-old. “If we want to be at the top, we can’t afford many more slip-ups. We have to do our homework.”
Dortmund’s 1-1 draw at VfL Bochum last weekend saw them lose the top spot in the table again to the record champions. “The whole season has been so crazy, so exhausting, so intense. We have had so many setbacks – even more so now,” Terzic said. “We’re being tested right now to see how many times we manage to get back up. “
