BVB star now most valuable player in the league, six pros lose out

The portal Transfermarkt.de has made an update. Borussia Dortmund lose six players, but now the most valuable professional in the league wears the BVB jersey.

At only 19 years of age, Jude Bellingham is one of Borussia Dortmund’s most important players. The Englishman is the third captain, an international player and is probably on the list of just about every top club. In the new season, the young star has not missed a single minute. The portal Transfermarkt.de has now reacted to the midfielder’s continuing steep development and made him the most valuable player in the entire Bundesliga. This is according to the update of the market values published on Wednesday.

Bellingham now stands alone at the top of the rankings at €90 million. He was previously at €80 million, sharing first place with Leipzig’s Christopher Nkunku and Bayern’s Joshua Kimmich. “The fact is that Bellingham is an extremely interesting player for English clubs in terms of the general conditions such as player profile, development potential and experience values – consequently, he has an enormous transfer price potential,” reasons Frederic Hillmann, Markwerte-Admin Bundesliga.

In addition to Bellingham, three other Dortmund players can look forward to an upgrade. The market value of Jamie Bynoe-Gittens has even doubled from four to eight million euros. Although the youngster is currently out of action, he previously attracted attention with his first Bundesliga goal.

Striker Anthony Modeste gained one million euros. His new market value is four million euros. This is probably only due to his move from Cologne to a Champions League club, as the 34-year-old has not yet been able to convince in sporting terms. And Alexander Meyer, who came from Regensburg as number two, is now listed at one million euros (+300,000 euros).

However, BVB also has six professionals in its ranks who have lost market value. Apart from Raphael Guerreiro, who dropped from 25 to 20 million due to fluctuating performances, these are all substitutes. Emre Can (16 to 14 million euros) and Nico Schulz (four to two million euros) each lost two million euros. Thorgan Hazard (15 to 12 million euros) lost three million euros in value. The permanently injured Mateu Morey is now valued at only 1.5 million euros (-2.5 million euros). Substitute keeper Luca Unbehaun stands at one million euros (-500,000 euros).
